Fall Concert  - Parents we need your help!

Our Fall Choir Concert is Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 7pm in the Performing Arts Center.

We need parents to volunteer in the following areas, please email me if you can help. I need to know prior to Tuesday evening how many volunteers I have to depend on, I look forward to hearing from you if you can help that evening.

  • 5 parents to sit with the students as they wait in the audience for their performance. Reminding them to stay quiet, applaud at the appropriate times and be on their best performance behavior.
  • 3 to 4 parents to assist with handing out the Fall Fundraiser information at the end of the performance in PAC lobby.
  • 4 to 6 parents to help pass out Butterbraid samples to everyone in attendance. (Please plan to arrive no later 6:15 pm.)
We want to remind all parents interested in chaperoning the Spring Trip that one of the requirements to be considered for this trip is to volunteer in at least 2 choir events. This is a great way to knock out one of those right away and still enjoy your son and/or daughter's performance.

Please email Jennifer Hollingshead at jholli@gmail.com.

Sponsoring Partnerships

APPLAUSE

KHSCA

Sponsoring Partners

As a non-profit organization the KHSCA relies heavily on sponsorship from the community to fund programs throughout the year. Your contribution helps enhance the educational opportunities for all students in the Choir in several ways: the purchase of music, stage and classroom equipment not funded through district budgets, uniforms, and senior scholarships are just a few of many. All donations are tax deductible as far as the law allows. All Sponsoring Partners are recognized in the printed program at each KHS Choir concert. We are looking for the following levels of sponsorship:

Diamond Partner         $1000 and above
Platinum Partner         $500-999.99
Gold Partner                $200-499.99
Silver Partner              $100-199.99
Bronze Partner           $50-99.99
Executive Partner       $25-49.99

Please make all checks payable to Katy High School Choir Association, all we need is your name or the name of the business, address, phone or email address. Forms will be made available on the blog and checks can be mailed to KHSCA, 6334 Highway Blvd., Katy, TX 77494 or sent to school with your student.

Solo & Ensemble Results

Solo & Ensemble Results
Congratulations to the Katy High School Choir students listed below. They earned 1st Division ratings from their judges at the UIL Region 23 Solo & Ensemble Contest held on February 4th at Lamar High School. Soloists whose names are in bold type performed Class 1 solos, and therefore qualify to advance to the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Austin in May. The trio and the three madrigals also advance to TSSEC. (Medium ensembles don’t advance to TSSEC, so the Cantante groups don’t move on.)
Thanks to all of the chaperones who helped so much during the contest!!! We could not have done it without you, so students, you need to thank these wonderful parents who helped make this great day possible.
Altogether, the Katy High School Choir students earned ninety-six 1st Division medals! A total of thirty-six students will be going to TSSEC in May.
