The Katy High School Choir will present its next Masterworks Concert event April 25 - 26, 2014. The choir has hosted their biannual Masterworks Concert event since 2006. The Masterworks Concert is the culmination of two days of intensive clinics and rehearsals with the composer of the contemporary choral music to be performed.
For 2014, The Katy High School Choir has invited the Jefferson Silva Magnet School Honor Choir from El Paso, Texas and the Katy High School Orchestra to join them in the presentation of Dr. Dan Forrest’s compositions “Requiem for the Living”, “Te Deum”, and “You Are The Music,” in addition to the premiere of a new work commissioned for the choir as part of Dr. Forrest’s Folk Songs in America choral cycle. http://www.danforrest.com/
